PTI Senator Saifullah Abro resigns from Senate after voting in favour of 27th amendment

Senator Saifullah Abro of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) announced his resignation from the Senate on Monday

ISLAMABAD: Senator Saifullah Abro of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) announced his resignation from the Senate on Monday after voting in support of the 27th Amendment, which was passed with a two-thirds majority.

During his final address on the Senate floor, Mr. Abro stated he was resigning from his senatorial position. He explained that he voted in favor of the 27th Amendment due to the impact of the Army and Field Marshal Asim Munir.

Mr Abro praised the Pakistan Army for enhancing the country’s reputation by winning the war against India. He then drew the Chairman’s attention and requested to be de-notified, sending his resignation to the Election Commission of Pakistan.
